Lit.EU ist ein kleines europäisches Literaturfestival am Adriatischen Meer, in Crikvenica, nahe dem historischen Küstenort Opatija. Im Hotel Kvarner Palace, in dem schon Erzherzog Joseph lebte, begegnen sich Schriftsteller, um in deutscher Sprache aus ihren Werken zu lesen. Ein Ort sich kennenzulernen und literarisch auszutauschen: sich inspirieren zu lassen und neue Lebenswelten hinter neuen Buchwelten zu entdecken. Mit Philosophischen Cafés, Literaturspaziergängen in Opatija und Triest oder Yoga für Literaten will sich das Lit.EU als weltoffenes Literaturfest geben, bei dem jeder willkommen ist, der sich für das geschriebene Wort interessiert, und daran glaubt, dass ein Buch nicht nur eine Ware, sondern eine Kraft, nicht nur Konsumgut, sondern existenzielle Erfahrung sein kann.

Renowned Croatian artist Ante Bakter (b. 1970, Ilok) has brought a distinctive artistic touch to our beachside oasis. The wall of the beach bar now features a vivid mural depicting a sailing ship, while the bar counter is adorned with a painting of small boats in a harbour, with the island of Krk appearing in the background – all executed in Bakter’s signature, vibrant style.

Bakter’s works are held in galleries and private collections around the world. Now, you have the opportunity to experience his art first-hand:
